ABOUT ELIGIBILITY NOMINATION PAST WINNERS
 


ELIGIBILITY

Any IABC Canada (East or Western Regions) member can be considered except:

  • Members currently serving on a regional board, and/or
  • Members who have served on IABC's international executive board within the past two years, including regional chairs, directors-at-large and officers of IABC.

To be considered for selection, nominees must have demonstrated:

  • Excellence in professional work - career-related achievements, advancements, scope of responsibilities, influence.
  • Outstanding service to IABC - chapter, district, international board positions, (leadership at all levels must be demonstrated over time) committee work, presentations to chapters, districts/regions, articles in Communication World and other professional publications.
  • Contribution to the practice of the profession - number of years in the field, evidence of impact on others, commitment to professionalism.
  • Recognition for standards of professional excellence - awards, honors, citations.
  • Accreditation through IABC.
  • Thoughtful leadership for the profession through articles, books, columns, research papers, speeches, teaching, conference, workshop or seminar presentations.

Selection criteria

A selection committee consists of four Master Communicators, including the previous year’s winner(s). This year’s committee is chaired by Ken Cherney, ABC, APR, MC (2005)
